I've followed the English Premier League for over 20 years, and I'm convinced that implementing a winter break would actually hurt the competitiveness of the league. The packed holiday schedule is part of what makes the EPL so intense and unpredictable, and teams like Liverpool and Manchester City have built squads specifically to handle that grind. A break might reduce injuries, but it would also give the bigger clubs more time to rest their star players, widening the gap with smaller teams who rely on momentum. Shouldn't we accept that fixture congestion is a fair test of squad depth rather than something to fix?
