Does remote work actually improve personal productivity for the majority?
Working from home has made me more productive, not less, and I think the push to return to the office is based on outdated assumptions about focus. I've tracked my own output for two years—my code reviews, my writing, my project completion rates—and they've all improved since I ditched the commute. Sure, some people need the structure of an office, but for many of us, the flexibility to control our environment is a huge boost. So I ask: does remote work actually improve personal productivity for the majority, or are we just fooling ourselves?
