Is extended family support always better for kids?
When my sister moved back home with her two kids after a divorce, our family dynamic shifted in ways I didn't expect—my parents suddenly became full-time caregivers, and I found myself stepping in as an extra parent. We've always been close, but now every decision from bedtime to school pickups involves three generations. Is it actually better for children to grow up with this kind of extended family support, or does it blur the boundaries that keep relationships healthy? I'm curious how others have navigated this when the traditional nuclear setup doesn't fit anymore.
