Should parents force kids to finish what they start?
When my daughter wanted to quit piano after two years, I made her finish the semester before deciding. She was 9, and I thought quitting mid-term taught the wrong lesson. But now at 12, she tells me she only continued because I pushed, and she still hates it. Are we helping kids by making them stick with commitments, or are we just projecting our own fears about giving up onto them?
