Should tech companies be legally required to design products accessible to older adults?
When my 78-year-old mother moved in with us last year, I noticed she stopped using the smartphone we bought her because every app assumed she could read tiny text and remember complex gestures. Aging isn't just about health—it's about how everyday technology leaves out an entire generation. Should tech companies be legally required to design products that are accessible to older adults, or is accessibility a nice-to-have that only matters when it becomes a lawsuit? I'm genuinely torn because I see both my mother's frustration and the extra cost of universal design.
