Is switching to free editing tools worth the steeper learning curve?
When I switched from paid photo-editing software to free open-source tools like GIMP, I saved about $120 a year, but the learning curve was steeper than I expected. Is the trade-off between cost and usability really worth it for most people, or do paid programs like Adobe Photoshop justify their subscription fees with better features and support? I'm genuinely torn because my workflow has slowed down, yet I can't ignore the savings.
