Should we sacrifice quarterly growth for long-term sustainability?
We recently hit our quarterly sales target, but I can't shake the feeling that the 'growth at all costs' mantra is slowly eroding our company's culture—burnout is up, and churn among top performers has doubled year-over-year. Is it realistic to prioritize long-term sustainability over aggressive quarterly targets, or is that just a luxury only profitable companies can afford? I've seen startups pivot from growth to profitability, but the transition always results in layoffs. Maybe there's a middle ground where we measure success by customer retention and employee satisfaction instead of just revenue?
