Is VAR worth the loss of spontaneity in football?
VAR has made football fairer, but it's also sucking the spontaneity out of the game. When every goal triggers a pause of uncertain length, the raw joy of scoring is replaced by nervous waiting. I've been going to matches for over 20 years, and the atmosphere in the stadium feels different now—less explosive, more tense. Still, I wouldn't want to go back to obvious referee blunders deciding big tournaments. So is the trade-off worth it?
