Can therapy apps truly replace human therapists?
Therapy apps promise mental health support on demand, but after using one for six months alongside traditional sessions, I've realized they lack the depth needed for real change. Quick check-ins and CBT exercises feel productive, yet they never challenge me the way a human therapist does when I'm avoiding the hard topics. Can a digital tool truly replicate the therapeutic alliance, or are we just paying for a placebo that makes us feel like we're working on ourselves?
