Does Stoicism Suppress Necessary Outrage?
Stoicism is often praised as a practical philosophy for modern life, but I wonder if its focus on emotional control actually suppresses necessary outrage. When I see injustice, like the recent layoffs at tech companies, my anger fuels action. Suppressing that emotion feels like compliance, not virtue. Can we really separate healthy protest from destructive passion?
