I've seen nonprofits tweak their metrics to highlight success while burying inconvenient data, which makes me question whether any statistic is truly objective. When a government report shows a drop in unemployment, do we ever ask who's excluded from the count? I think we need to stop treating every figure as gospel and instead ask who benefits from the way the data is presented.
