Standardized testing in education does more harm than good, and I say this as a teacher who has administered dozens of these exams. Tests like the SAT or state assessments measure a narrow slice of ability, mostly memorization and test-taking speed, while ignoring creativity and problem-solving. I've seen bright students freeze up and fail, not because they lack knowledge, but because the format penalizes them. If we keep prioritizing these scores for college admissions and school funding, we'll keep squeezing out the very skills that matter in the real world.
