Are soft skills really more important than technical expertise?
Soft skills like communication and empathy are often called 'the real job skills,' but are they really more important than technical expertise? In my 12 years as a team lead, I've hired brilliant coders who couldn't collaborate, and friendly folks who couldn't code. The successful projects usually had both, so I'm leaning toward YES, but I've seen enough exceptions to wonder if we're overcorrecting.
