Soft skills get mocked as 'fluffy' in tech, but I've seen projects fail not because of bad code, but because no one could communicate requirements or give honest feedback. A developer who can't explain trade-offs or listen to a client's real problem will produce something technically correct yet useless. That said, are soft skills really something you can train, or are they mostly personality traits that MBTI-style workshops can't change? I lean toward believing they're teachable habits, but I've also met brilliant engineers who never improved despite coaching.
