Do soft skills matter more than hard skills in the long run?
Soft skills are often listed as requirements in job ads, but I've seen companies hire purely on technical test scores and then struggle with team conflicts for years. Last quarter, my team lost a solid engineer because he couldn't give or receive feedback without defensiveness—his code was flawless, but collaboration was a disaster. Is it fair to say that soft skills matter more than hard skills in the long run, or are we just undervaluing what can be measured and trained?
