Smartphone cameras have gotten so good that many people now leave their DSLRs at home, but I still think dedicated photography gear matters more than most admit. A phone can nail a quick snapshot, yet when I shoot a wedding or a low-light concert, the difference in dynamic range and lens control is obvious. Sure, the convenience of a pocket camera is real, but aren't we trading away too much creative potential for that ease?
