Smartphone cameras have gotten so good that I barely touch my mirrorless DSLR anymore, but I still think dedicated photography gear matters for serious work. Last month I shot a wedding with my phone and the results were decent, yet the lack of optical zoom and manual controls frustrated me when I needed to capture a fleeting expression from across the room.
