I've volunteered at a wildlife rescue for years, and I'm convinced that zoos do more harm than good for animal conservation. The vast majority of animals in captivity suffer from stress and abnormal behaviors, and only a tiny fraction of species benefit from breeding programs. Yet many people still believe zoos are educational and necessary for endangered species. Should we phase them out entirely?
