Soft skills like communication and teamwork are often called 'transferable,' but in my experience hiring managers still filter resumes for hard technical keywords first. I've sat on interview panels where a candidate with average code but great rapport got the offer over a brilliant introvert. Yet companies keep saying they struggle to find people who can collaborate — maybe we should be more honest that soft skills are the real differentiator, even if they're harder to measure. Can we really rank them above technical ability in most jobs?
