Should public funds build stadiums or schools?
Should professional sports teams be allowed to use public funding for new stadiums, or is that a waste of taxpayer money that could go to more pressing needs like schools and infrastructure? I've seen studies showing that stadiums rarely deliver the promised economic boost, yet cities keep coughing up billions. But there's also something to be said for civic pride and the intangible benefits of having a team. I'm leaning towards 'no' because the numbers just don't add up, but I'm open to hearing other perspectives.
