Should families be required to attend weekly dinners?
My extended family expects us to attend every Sunday dinner, and honestly, I think it does more harm than good. We've done this for five years straight, and the arguments over politics and parenting are getting louder every week. Spending time together is important, but forcing it on a fixed schedule just builds resentment on all sides. Maybe skipping a month sometimes would actually make those gatherings feel meaningful rather than like a chore.
