Should elderly people be allowed to work past retirement age?
Elderly people should not be forced to retire at a fixed age if they are still capable and willing to work. My 72-year-old neighbor runs a small repair shop and is sharper than many younger folks I know. Forcing retirement wastes their skills and often leads to loneliness and depression. Yes, some jobs have physical demands, but we should assess ability individually rather than by a number on a birth certificate.
