Airlines keep shrinking seat pitch to cram in more rows, and I think the breaking point is here. On a 14-hour flight last year, my knees were pressed against the seat in front for the entire duration, and the passenger behind me kept kicking my backrest. I know ultra-low-cost carriers need density to survive, but when even legacy airlines offer 29 inches, the product stops being transport and becomes endurance training. Should economy class have a legal minimum seat pitch, or is it fair to let the market decide?
