Should developed countries fund clean energy in developing nations?
I just read that global carbon emissions hit another record high last year, and yet we're still seeing new coal plants approved in countries like China and India. It's easy to blame those nations, but developed countries like the US and UK have been burning fossil fuels for over a century, so our historical emissions are way higher. If we're serious about climate change, should developed countries be forced to cut emissions faster and fund clean energy in developing nations, even if it hurts our own economies short-term? Or is that just unfair and unrealistic? I lean towards yes, we should take more responsibility, but the economic costs are tough to ignore.
