Should CRISPR be allowed to alter human embryos and future generations?
Should gene-editing tools like CRISPR be allowed to alter human embryos when the change gets passed on to every future generation? I support CRISPR for treating diseases in living patients, but editing embryos crosses a line I can't fully justify. A single mistake in the germline doesn't stop with one person — it enters the whole bloodline, and no consent form can cover people who aren't born yet.
