Screen time for kids under 12 does more harm than good, and I'm tired of parents pretending otherwise. My son is 8 and already glued to his tablet; his attention span for a 10-minute book has collapsed, and the school psychologist noticed it too. We limit it to an hour on weekends, but the cravings and meltdowns when we take it away are real. I know some families say educational apps helped their kids read early, but I see more zombie stares than learning in our living room.
