Should schools prioritize critical thinking over standardized tests?
Schools keep adding more standardized tests, but I've noticed that students often forget the material right after exams. I tutored a kid who could solve quadratic equations in April but couldn't remember them by September. Does rote learning and testing really help them retain knowledge in the long run? I think it just teaches them to cram and toss it out. Should we prioritize critical thinking over test scores? I'd say yes.
