Reusable bags were supposed to solve our plastic problem, but I've seen the math change my mind. A cotton tote needs 131 uses to beat a single plastic bag's carbon footprint, yet most people forget theirs and buy new ones. I've done it myself more times than I'd like to admit. Should we actually ban single-use plastics outright or is the reusable bag movement making things worse for the environment?
