Is renting forever smarter than buying in today's housing market?
Renting forever is smarter than buying a home in most cities today. With prices up 40% since 2019 and mortgage rates hovering near 7%, my monthly rent for a two-bedroom is still $800 less than a comparable mortgage payment. I've moved three times for better jobs without losing money on closing costs or repairs. But maybe I'm missing out on equity growth in the long run—what do you think?
