Do remote work tools really boost productivity or just make us busier?
Remote work tools like Slack and Notion were supposed to make us more productive, but I've found they often do the opposite. The constant notifications and the pressure to respond instantly fragment my focus so much that deep work happens only after hours. A study from the University of California Irvine found it takes about 23 minutes to refocus after a distraction, and my day is full of those. Are we actually getting more done, or just being busier in a more visible way?
