Has institutional religion lost its moral credibility?
Religious institutions often claim moral authority, but I've seen them use that power to silence victims of abuse within their ranks. When a church protects a predator over a child, it loses any right to dictate ethics to the wider society. Does institutional religion still hold genuine moral credibility in the modern world, or has it forfeited that role through its own failures?
