Should religious fasting adapt to local climates?
Religious fasting laws were written for specific climates and ancient lifestyles, yet many believers follow them literally today. I grew up Orthodox Christian and fasted strictly, but after moving to a Nordic country where winter daylight is scarce, the rules felt disconnected from reality. Should modern believers adapt these traditions to their environment, or does strict adherence preserve spiritual meaning?
