Reality TV competitions like The Voice claim to discover raw talent, but the heavy-handed editing and producer manipulation make the outcome feel predetermined. I've watched enough seasons to spot the pattern: the underdog gets a sob story, the frontrunner gets a villain edit, and the winner is often predictable by episode three. The show may give winners a stage, but does it genuinely showcase the best voice, or simply the most television-friendly narrative? I doubt the latter is fair to the contestants.
