Pedestrianizing downtown streets is the only way to make our cities livable again. I've lived in a mid-sized city for a decade, and every time we close a block to cars on weekends, the cafes fill up and parents let kids run ahead. But shop owners argue they lose delivery access and drive-by customers, and some elderly residents say they can't walk the extra two blocks from the parking garage.
