Should overcrowded destinations close their doors to mass tourism?
Overtourism is ruining the very places we travel to see, and the blame falls on tourists themselves. I visited Barcelona last summer and couldn't move down La Rambla, yet the crowds keep coming. Is it ethical to keep promoting destinations that are clearly overwhelmed? Local residents are being priced out, yet we call it 'experiencing culture.' Maybe some places should just close their doors to mass tourism.
