Is online learning worse than in-person classes for most students?
Online learning is worse than in-person classes for most students. I've taught at a community college for six years and watched my 8am Zoom lectures lose half their attendees by week three, while the same format in a physical room kept 90% present. The convenience of logging in from bed seems to come at a real cost to engagement and memory retention, though I'll admit that self-disciplined learners sometimes thrive in it. Can we honestly say a recorded lecture replaces the spontaneous questions and peer energy of a live classroom?
