Should parents rely on their children for retirement?
My parents sacrificed everything to give me a better life, and now they expect me to support them financially in their old age. I make a decent salary, but I also have my own kids and future plans. In many cultures this filial obligation is non-negotiable, yet I wonder if that expectation is fair in today's economy. Is it reasonable for parents to rely on their children for retirement?
