Are strict media rules for kids outdated or necessary?
My kid came home from school yesterday saying his friend's parents let him play rated-M games at age 9, and I felt that familiar pang of judgment before I caught myself. I've let my own 10-year-old watch superhero movies with intense violence, so where's my line actually drawn? With screens everywhere, strict content rules feel outdated, but I worry about what exposure does before kids can process it. Are parents who enforce tight media boundaries being overly protective in a digital age, or is there real harm we're ignoring?
