Is hybrid work really boosting productivity or just a compromise?
My company mandated a return-to-office three days a week, and the stated reason was 'collaboration.' But our own internal survey showed that 68% of employees felt they lost more time commuting than they gained in impromptu chats. So, is hybrid work actually a productivity booster, or are we just forcing a compromise that pleases no one? I read a Stanford study that claimed remote workers are 13% more productive, but that was pre-2023 and things have changed. Could the real issue be that our office layout isn't designed for the collaboration we claim to want?
