Should seniors be pushed to adopt smartphones?
My 74-year-old mother refuses to use a smartphone, and I've stopped pushing her after realizing that forcing tech on seniors often does more harm than good. She manages fine with her flip phone and face-to-face interactions, and her memory issues make learning new interfaces frustrating. But I wonder if we're setting older adults up for isolation as more services move online, from doctor appointments to banking. Should we accept their choice to skip digital tools, or does society have a responsibility to make tech adoption easier for the elderly?
