Is the convenience of mobile wallets worth the loss of financial privacy?
Mobile wallets have made payments so seamless that I rarely carry cash anymore, but I'm starting to worry about what we lose when every transaction leaves a digital trace. Fintech companies promise convenience and financial inclusion, yet they also build detailed profiles of our spending habits that banks never had. Is the trade-off worth it, or are we sleepwalking into a surveillance economy where our every purchase is logged and sold? I've seen friends get denied loans based on algorithm decisions they can't even appeal, which makes me question if the efficiency gain justifies the loss of human judgment in finance.
