Mandatory minimum sentences for drug offenses do more harm than good, yet many states still enforce them. I've seen nonviolent offenders serve decades for low-level possession while violent criminals get shorter terms. These laws crowd our prisons and break families without reducing addiction rates. Should we abolish mandatory minimums and let judges decide based on individual cases?
