Is rote practice better than real-world math?
Learning math through real-world applications is overrated when it comes to building strong foundations. I struggled with word problems for years until I drilled abstract equations—now I tutor high schoolers and see the same pattern: students who master pure computation adapt faster to applied tasks than those taught only through examples. Isn't that a sign we should prioritize rote practice over so-called relevance?
