Is the album format still relevant in the streaming era?
I've been collecting vinyl for years, but I keep asking myself whether streaming has made album-oriented listening obsolete. My shelf of records feels like a museum, yet there's something about the ritual—dropping the needle, flipping sides—that a playlist just can't replicate. Do we really need to preserve the album as an art form, or is it fine that artists now release singles and EPs for a fragmented audience?
