Does free will exist if our choices are determined?
Is free will truly compatible with the idea that our choices are determined by prior causes? I've been reading about neuroscience and philosophy, and the more I learn, the more I question whether we have genuine agency or if we are just complex mechanisms responding to inputs. When I decide to eat an apple instead of a cookie, is that decision really 'mine' in any meaningful sense, or just the inevitable outcome of my biology and environment?
