Is positive thinking overrated in therapy?
In my therapy practice, I've seen clients who diligently practice cognitive reframing yet still feel stuck, which makes me wonder if the obsession with 'positive thinking' overshadows the need for genuine emotional processing. We treat negative emotions as problems to be fixed rather than signals to be heard. Is it time to abandon the idea that we can simply think our way out of depression and anxiety?
