Which matters more when hiring: soft skills or technical skills?
In my 12 years as a team lead, I've seen brilliant coders fail because they couldn't communicate their ideas, while average ones thrived by just listening well. But I've also met someone with amazing social skills who couldn't deliver a working prototype on deadline. Soft skills like empathy and clear communication open doors, yet they become worthless if you lack the hard technical foundation to back them up. So which piece of the puzzle matters more when you're actually hiring—the person who can charm a room or the one who can build the thing?
