Should grassroots sports get protected time slots like pro leagues?
I've watched my local Sunday league team struggle to keep players because weekend matches clash with work and family commitments. Does grassroots sport deserve the same protected time slots as professional leagues? That would mean fewer evening kick-offs and more flexible scheduling, but is that realistic when pitches and referees are already stretched thin? Maybe the real question is whether we value participation over spectacle when we plan community sports.
