Cap daily entries, spread crowds via dynamic pricing, and fine cruise ships that dump thousands at once; the problem shrinks fast. Local residents can keep their neighborhoods' character while still earning from tourism, but only if cities stop treating every landmark like a cash cow. Why should we accept that crowds inevitably ruin travel destinations when data shows that regulation actually works?
