Is real change in nutrition about willpower or our engineered food environment?
I've tried every diet trend from keto to intermittent fasting, but what actually moved my blood sugar and energy was eating more whole foods and less processed stuff. The nutrition advice landscape is so contradictory that I wonder if the real problem isn't information but the food environment itself. Should we focus on personal willpower when the default grocery store aisle is engineered to be irresistible? Maybe the debate isn't about which macronutrient ratio is best, but whether we can even make a free choice in a system designed to exploit our biology. I lean toward saying we can't, but I'm not fully sure—what does that mean for how we approach diet and health?
